Former GCA President Endorses Drug Group
The former President of the Georgia Chiropractic Association (GCA), Doug Giles DC, stated in a letter to the Florida Chiropractic Physicians Association (FCPA) that he was joining the chiropractic drug pushing organization.
Giles states in his letter that in addition to being a former President of the GCA he was also on the Board of Directors and served as Chairman of the Board. He is currently President of Stewart Clinics.
He stated in his letter that he recently learned that Life University had changed its entrance requirements to the Doctor of Chiropractic program:
“To my dismay, I learn that Life University no longer requires Organic Chemistry nor Physics as prerequisites for acceptance into the Doctor of Chiropractic program. Here's a question. How on earth will shrinking requirements and accepting lesser qualified students elevate this profession?”
Lamenting about the plight of recent graduates he stated:
“Out of desperation they listen to ‘gurus’ talk of ‘high volume’, ‘philosophy’ and ‘all cash’ as if it's a religious order not to be challenged.”
He closes his letter by thanking the FCPA for its “vision, work and talents” and states he will be joining the organization.
The FCPA which seeks expanded scope of practice and rights for chiropractors including drugs has been gaining wider support within the chiropractic profession over the past several years. The FCPA has been holding seminars around Florida attracting hundreds of attendees during a time when seminar attendance is down within the profession.
The FCPA boasts Over 4,000 members and associated members with 1,800 or so in Florida alone. They claim to have organizations in 38 states and now have a national focus.
The FCPA leadership has been invited to chiropractic campuses including Palmer Florida, and University of Bridgeport. Bridgeport sponsors their Continuing Education Events. They have major corporate sponsors for their organization and their events including the OUM Malpractice Insurance Program.
