The Global Burden of Vertebral Subluxation

The Science of Patient Centered, Evidenced Based Care Focused on Subluxation

Matthew McCoy DC, MPH CEO and Co-Founder of ChiroFutures Malpractice Program will be presenting a two hour program titled: The Global Burden of Vertebral Subluxation on Sunday January 22, 2017 at the University of Miami. The program is being held by the Florida Chiropractic Society as part of their first 20 hour Continuing Education program for 2017.

This course will present clinical topics and concepts that relate to current research on chiropractic as it applies to an evidence based, subluxation and wellness model. The course will emphasize the development of a patient centered, shared decision making model for the clinical management of patients based on the founding principles of chiropractic.

The provision of health care services and the role of the chiropractor are changing rapidly. The paternalistic, authoritarian paradigm of the doctor patient relationship is shifting to a more patient centered and evidence based model. The purpose of this course is to help the practicing chiropractor understand the role and application of research in clinical practice.

Dr. McCoy has spent the better part of the past 27 years focused on exploring the clinical and scientific facets of vertebral subluxation.  He is a strong advocate of objective outcome assessment tools to evaluate subluxation both clinically and from a research perspective. A clinician, researcher and educator, Dr. McCoy’s professional interests also include public health, health policy and health outcomes research. He is currently the Publisher of several research journals devoted to exploring vertebral subluxation, is the CEO & Co-Founder of the ChiroFutures Malpractice Program and is Vice President of the Foundation for Vertebral Subluxation.

The FCS Convention begins on Saturday January 21 at 8:00 AM and ends on Sunday the 22nd at 7:00 PM.
