In a detailed 4 page press release the Board of Directors of EPIC upper cervical technique REJECTED the attacks on x-rays for the analysis of vertebral subluxation from the ACA's “Choosing Wisely” campaign, the College of Chiropractors of British Columbia and the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards (FCLB).

The statement from EPIC addresses doctor and patient autonomy, consent, risk factors, contraindications and a host of other issues that these bans on x-ray for analysis of subluxation bring up.

Over the past several years the Deniers within the Chiropractic Cartel who control the profession, have been working hard to further marginalize the practice of locating, analyzing and correcting vertebral subluxation and position the practice as a threat to public health and safety.

The American Chiropractic Association (ACA) and the World Federation of Chiropractic (WFC) have long attacked the taking of x-rays for subluxation management. ACA members must sign a PLEDGE to abide by the ACA's practice standards of which "Choosing Wisely" is a part.

The College of Chiropractors of British Columbia has been methodically chipping away at the ability for chiropractors to manage subluxation through its adoption of the infamous "APPENDIX N" which got its start in Australia.

The Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards (FCLB) recently jumped into the debate and passed a Resolution falsely claiming that there are "material risks" of x-rays that must be disclosed to patients through an informed consent process. The FCLB passed these Resolutions even though they were contacted before the votes and urged to remove the dangerous language.

The FCLB did this even though responses to Freedom of Information Act (Open Records) requests from around the United States revealed that the Delegates to the FCLB meeting had NO AUTHORITY to vote on the issue as representatives of their state boards. The FCLB included the "material risks" statements as part of a "compromise" with the Deniers running the Cartel.

The FCLB receives the majority of its funding from the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE) and also from taxpayers from each state represented. The board members from both organizations bounce back and forth between the organizations vying for positions of power and control of the profession. The NBCE receives its funding from student loan money.

Calling these actions ". . . a coordinated effort by some to negatively impact the competency, safety, and potential efficacy of the chiropractic profession" the EPIC Board stated: ". . . the EPIC technique Board of Directors unanimously opposes the FCLB’s resolution from May 1st requiring Doctor’s of Chiropractic to have additional “material risk” reporting."

EPIC joins several state chiropractic and international trade associations, the Foundation for Vertebral Subluxation and the ChiroFutures Malpractice Insurance Program in rejecting the FCLB policy and is the first upper cervical technique to speak out.

Leaders of other upper cervical groups, under pressure from Cartel members, have stated they would rather accentuate the positive than address the negative as the rights of their members are stripped from them. When confronted on why they do not stand up to these attacks, Cartel sympathizers claim they are "trying to change them from within" and that you have to "have a seat at the able" to do so. Compromise of foundational values are typically how they get to remain in good graces with the Cartel and move up the chain of command.
